- What does a high funding rate mean?
- A high positive funding rate means the perpetual trades above its index price and longs pay shorts every interval. It usually signals crowded long positioning; the rate is paid on the position's notional value, not on margin.
- Can I earn the highest funding rate?
- You earn positive funding by holding the short side. To avoid price risk, pair it with a long on spot (cash and carry) or a long perpetual on an exchange that pays less; the difference, after fees, is the funding arbitrage profit.
